Full Face is the way

Haven't been riding and writing for quite a bit, as was too busy with work and other major commitments. Here's the update on my life and the MTB scene. In the MTB world, press releases with major impact was everywhere, firstly, Sam Hill went from Specialized to Team Nukeproof/CRC, and Aaron Gwin surprisingly took over the spot as the key rider for Specialized despite the display of intentions previously in continuing with Trek World Racing.

When I wasn't riding, I'm still shopping anyway, hence bought myself several new MTB related products, such as a hope seat clamp, renthal chainring, XT cassette, full face helmet and new knee guards.

Here's some picture of the loots.

Well the knee guards haven't arrived yet, will post pictures once I received it. Oh and the stickers are worn so... Time for new ones!

More Foxes

It seems like I've been buying way too much stuff this few months that is regarded to cycling. Time to cut down my spending (well I have a housing loan to pay FYI). But whatever, bought this new Fox Oasis Hydration bag yesterday.

On a side note, the 2013 pre calendar for the 2013 FMB World Tour events has been released.

Atherton Tees had arrived!

I know its lame, and its gonna be a hella short post, but still, my first Atherton Racing product had arrived! I was so stoked that the L size fitted perfectly.

Anyway's, to not let this post be so damn short, and if you'll wondering how the TBP YOG Track looked like, here's a video of it. I'm riding slow as I just passed the test and my left crank arm bolt is missing FFS.

This is Peaty Season Finale!

"This is Peaty", the show featuring Steve Peat, legendary downhill mountain biker has come to an end. Hilarious episode (well so to speak every episode is funny as hell), showing Peaty and Brook Macdonald heading to Chiang Mai in Thailand for some crazy fun and hitting the local trails.

At the Chiang Mai Downhill Challenge, Peaty took the first place at the downhill challenge, and some local guy won the big air.

Watch the episode yourself to find out more!

And it seems like every single brand that Aaron Gwin wore in World Cup races is promoting his autographed products as contest prizes. Previously there was the jersey and now, Bell helmets autographed by Gwin! Just log on to facebook and does the following steps for your chance to win.

Birthday Weekend: The Contour and Gardens by the Bay

Was off for awhile, hence no updates. Busy with presentations and of course my birthday weekend!

Not much of a riding this weekend, went to Gardens by the Bay, and it was indeed a astonishing sight (Cloud Forest). The Cloud Forest has a man made waterfall which simulates that of a real mountain landscape, lots of cool flowers and plants growing on the cliffs, was quite a sight. The flower dome was however less impressive.

Did I mentioned that I just got myself a contour camera? So here's a few pictures of the contour and the Gardens by the Bay.

Fixie for my fiancée

After much research in a field of fixies that I'm not knowledgeable in, we finally decided to purchase one from this store at Ang Mo Kio, Scootz. It is not easy locating the store, as its right under some HDB blocks (FYI if your not Singaporean, HDBs are the flats that most Singaporean resides).

Overall, the service-staff, if I'm not wrong, his name is Kentley, was pretty friendly. Answered most of our queries and provided us with some insightful comments regarding fixies and bothered to offer us free gifts and putting on the bar tapes for the bike (very anal). On a side note, the shop has awesome air conditioning, which is hardly seen in any other bike shops.

My fiancée viewed and tested some of the bikes, and we decided to buy the Dura Fixie. Colour's pretty sweet as its white with nice decals, similar to my DH 2.0. Fixies are pretty fascinating, as you can not only brake them, but also coast them causing it to drift, but its a really gnarly stunt to pull off.

Well here's the picture of the bike and my fiancée.

Matching my bike perfectly...

All and all we were happy with the purchase, well at least now she doesn't get out-run when we go riding.

Loots and the Looks

I realized the importance of good safety equipment after several bad experiences.

Hence, bought myself the Fox Flux. Pretty dope looking helmet, works and look better than my previous crappy one.

Fox Flux Camo
Stoked with my new helmet, covers the back of my head and stuff. Well since I'm at Xtreme Rated, figure that I should grab some other stuff than just the helmet, which ended being a Fox pouch.

Fox Flux and the pouch
Despite all the loots, guess what, Singpost dialled, and my package has been found, as for the content of the package? More riding gear.

Clothes, hats, decals and grips

Well that was a lot of mountain biking stuff for one weekend, did some pimping for my bike, with the help of my missus of course, credits to her for designing my label.

The Label

After some pimpin'

More Label

Will probably make my first trailing experience with the dh 2.0 at a proper trail this weekend. Stay tuned.
